I never meant to get down this way,

But what the hell can I say,

I got in too deep and now I'm losing sleep,

And my mates saw what was going down,

But I swore we weren't getting down,

But if I had a crown, I'd be giving it to you,

And no matter how my friends try to get through,

I can't get you off of my mind,

And to all else I've gone blind,

And whilst to my faith I'll stay true,

I can't say what I would and wouldn't do,

And whilst I've not even let them cross my mind,

The things I want to do to you,

It's a sin and I won't let temptation win,

But if you were to let me be your king,

I'd make you my queen,

And we could do things as yet unseen,

We'd get down to the point of wow,

But for now, those are thoughts I can't allow,

And these are feelings I have to keep buried down,

But girl just say the word and I'll give you the crown,

And then at last we can get down this way,

For now that's all I'll say,

The rest I'll leave till our wedding day.
