My song (isn't your song)

People wanna talk like they know me,

They say I know no pain because I'm from the country,

And my dad's style is classical,

So I shouldn't act the fool,

Nodding my head like I know when the Mic drop,

Charles Darwin's house is my backdrop.

But please stop, you don't know me,

You ask what I know about a hard knock life,

What do I know about pain and strife,

But a hard knock life is the start of my journey,

If my life had a soundtrack it would be track one,

With the final track being Gods son.

I might now live in the country,

But I was born on an estate,

And my life might look perfect to you,

But please knows that not true,

The past effected my mentality,

And even now looking back has me in a state.

I had a painful start to my journey,

My dad had my mum in an emotional chokehold,

Everything was so dark and so cold,

Ewell West is my earliest memory,

Everything else is buried trauma for me,

So you see my life isn't all rosey and gold.

Your life is what you make it,

It doesn't matter where you come from,

You can change it how you see fit,

Just learn to sing your own song.
