Negativity (Keep it real) !

I talk about this dream deep down inside of me,

I talk about positivity,

I tell you all to keep it real,

Yet in reality, there's a whole different side to me,

Theres a side to me that's always doubting and questioning,

Do I have a heart of gold or a heart so cold,

Do my family and friends really love me,

What are these feelings I feel,

Why do I always try and hide,

What's going on inside,

Why do I need therapy,

And do I really believe in the one true king,

And here's the thing I'm only human just like you,

I get sad and I get lonely,

And this isn't me trying to spread a message of positivity,

This is me trying to be true,

I know most of my poems have a fairytale ending,

Negative beginning, problem solving middle and positive ending,

And I'm not trying to hear the violin or fiddle playing,

I'm not trying to get you to feel sorry for me,

I just need you to know negativity is a part of keeping it real,

And if showing you the scars covering me is the only way for you to be free,

Then that's exactly what I'll do, I'll show every scar to you,

For I know that you and I will heal,

As long as we cling to all that's real and true.
