Poem to my sisters

As soon as I left yours those tears started weling in my eyes,

And a joyous heartsong started pulsing throughout,

For without a doubt,

Realisation had hit me like a tidal wave,

For I know that I am loved and that I love,

This is a feeling I've never felt before but now can never miss,

And to what can I compare this but to a dove,

I know that may sound cliche,

But what can I say,

No other feeling can compare to this,

Not even the buzz from a lovers kiss,

For when you know you and family are true,

Nothing can compare to this intense bliss,

When you come to realise nothing can ever part you,

Your heart jumps for joy within you,

I tell you truly there's nothing quite like this,

The joy and pride you get whenever your with family,

To see the children play,

To hear your siblings laughing,

I wouldn't change a thing,

I love you and I know you love me,

What a revelation that has set me free,

And with love filling my heart and tears filling my eyes,

I'll end this poem here,

As I think of all those I hold most dear.
